Physics, Science, and Math Days are just around the
corner!
Please join us on Saturday, October 6, 2012, for Teacher Orientation. Teacher
Orientation is here to help you start your planning and give you
some ideas that will help build excitement for your students.
Members of the Teacher’s Steering Committee will conduct a
series of presentations, lead several hands-on activities,
answer questions, and explore how to incorporate amusement park
rides into your course curriculum. A packet of written support
materials will be distributed along with a CD of resource
material. Click
here for a tentative schedule and description of the
sessions that will be held during Teacher Orientation. Note that
we will begin at 9:00 sharp. Light breakfast refreshments will
be available ahead of the start time as well as several student
video projects.
At the conclusion of the day, teacher participants will receive
a complimentary pass to go to California's Great America during
the remainder of the operating year 2012. (Excludes Halloween
Haunt)
This event is free but we need you to register so
we can plan enough material for everyone. Please either call
California's Great America at 408-986-5947, or send an email to youthsales@cagreatamerica.com.
You can also go
to the Great America website and sign up through there.

Teacher Orientation will be held at Nea Community Learning Center in
Alameda. Click
here for a map to Nea. We are holding this event away from
the park to avoid space conflicts and distractions that occur at
the park. By holding it at a school site, we are able to take
advantage of resources they have there. Next year we will move
to a different site, likely on the west side of the Bay.
For any questions, please contact (408) 986-5947 or write to the webmaster.
