When we think about Hugh Lee,
we think of many things. In 1968, as president of the Oakland
Chinese Golf Club, Hugh was instrumental in
discussions that led to the formation of the Federation
of Chinese Golf Clubs two years later. Hugh served as
Secretary-Treasurer of the Federation from 1970 through
2000. |

Over the years, Hugh served as president of
the Oakland Chinese Golf Club many times, and was president
of the Federation from 2008-2012. In addition, Hugh was
always front and center with the history of the Federation
and willingly passed that history along to new generations
of officers. The Association website is testament to his
knowledge and communication. |

In the spring of 2019, at Hugh's suggestion,
the Federation was renamed the Association of
International Golf Clubs to represent our
international flavor, having clubs in Victoria and
Vancouver, Canada. |

During the large tournaments sponsored by the
Federation (Association), Hugh could generally be seen
either giving out trophies and prizes, or receiving them.
Thus the relatively large number of photos that speak to
these roles. As much as possible, I've included the years in
which these photos occurred. |

In short, the Federation wouldn't have
existed without the effort os Hugh over the years. In turn
Hugh was supported by Shirley who also took home many
prizes during those years together.
